I absolutely love these pieces, especially "Heavenly Blue Wedding". I have no idea of how illustrators schooled, of the community that training seems to have produced, of the life-long satisfactions it enabled. I wish we could go on like this for another few weeks.
Bob BolliniAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18907156.post-13873522717964781052008-02-13T10:24:00.000-05:002008-02-13T10:24:00.000-05:00Barbara (or "Mrs. Bradley" as we were required to ...Barbara (or "Mrs. Bradley" as we were required to call her in those days) was my drawing teacher at the Academy in SF from 1978-1980.It was interesting that as her students, we knew so little about her illustration career in New York. I think she must have thought we wouldn't have thought it was interesting or been able to appreciate it because of the time context.
I hope that the readers of this fascinating series -I can't help thinking of the television series "Mad Men"- also appreciate Barbara's even greater contribution to illustration as a teacher. Quite a few of today's top illustrators sat at Barbara's feet and marveled at her drawing ability-and her great ability to teach it.Robert Hunthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10980181012293008476noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18907156.post-23715637981685687662008-02-13T10:20:00.000-05:002008-02-13T10:20:00.000-05:00This comment has been removed by the author.Robert Hunthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10980181012293008476noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18907156.post-50405267860279594612008-02-13T09:23:00.000-05:002008-02-13T09:23:00.000-05:00This has been a fascinating week!
