And if there is a job landed from time to time, illustrators are forced to cut the mininum price rate (that would be considered in USA or Western Europe) three times. Because it's just ink and paper, you know.akvilehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15393953058397278668noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18907156.post-64879572956533864032011-06-27T11:38:48.864-04:002011-06-27T11:38:48.864-04:00What an interesting article! Just checked and there are a couple of issues available right now on ebay - but the sellers are asking way too much imo. I only purchase old magazines by the lot to keep the cost reasonable.

The magazines are very slim - about 30/40 pages - and feature some great interviews with FAS founding faculty, tips about how to get work in the commercial art business, articles on successful graduates, contests for current students to participate in and photos of and artwork by the FAS founding faculty you might otherwise normally not be able to find.

They've been a great resource for some of my posts here on TI over the last couple of years - and I've even used them as a resource for my lessons at the college.leifpenghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07232334860061949895noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18907156.post-64649412227133366002011-06-24T13:34:21.619-04:002011-06-24T13:34:21.619-04:00Wait - Famous Artists School had a MAGAZINE??? I have some of the big books they published for the course back in the 50's, and they're magnificient ... would love to know what that mag looked like.

As for being willing to trade places with some of those illustrators back in the day ... people think we don't exist here in the age of the magic techno box, but we do ...Michael Fraleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14394923592670217503noreply@blogger.com
