I know this sounds dumb, but what is that technique called? How did they do this before photoshop? I've always wondered!
HEy Carolita- I assume you're referring to the flat color + linework style. This was accomplished by 'cutting films'. One would overlay one's artwoek with a translucent film and cut out the shape to make a plate for the printer. The film would then be tagged with a spec'd color i.e.: "100% PMS 210". Quite simple in these instances, much more difficult when dealing with several overlapping, butting, or overlayed colors.
