Here he uses a compelling colour scheme that is decidedly atypical for a western scene. Coupled with his expert use of light and shade and a beautifully realized group of interesting character types, Bomberger delivers an exceptional piece that grabs the viewer and doesn't let go.

wow. amazing works. love looking at the old school illustrators. they paved the way for us to follow.
thanks for sharing.
he was my grandfather :)
Anonymous;
if you'd like to tell me more about your grandfather contact me at leifpeng[at]gmail[dot]com - I'd love to learn all about his career. :^)
I've located an old family photograph which is in good condition with exception of full i.d. of photographer and a date. Was your grandfather, Bruce Bomberger, partners with another photographer, ___ & Bomberger, with offices at 91 water st., newburgh, ny? If so, do you know around what time period? We are trying to establish a period during which the pix may have been taken. Thanks.
Sorry Denise; this Bruce Bomberger was an illustrator, not a photographer - and he lived in California.
I am very fond of an old poster sized print I have called "Concentration" by Bruce Bomberger (Serendipity Gallery, Cali). I love it.
Thanks for all the mini-bio's of these great artists! At a thrift store, I found a signed lithograph of a wonderfully quirky French rue by Mr. Bomberger. At first, I mistook it for a contemporary "street art" piece and was quite surprised at its vintage. Cheers!

The information that Lief Peng gave
Denise Carrera is incorrect. Bruce Bomberger did work out of New York. His NY agent was Helen Wohlberg. She was succeeded by Libby Ford who, as I have heard, is still in the business. The last known phone number for that agency was 212-644-2028. I have a Western piece from his NY porfolio and on the back is a sticker of his agent Helen Wohlberg. I also have an original Western artwork, and an original Marlboro Man of Marlboro Country ad that was done by him. Circa 1960 is the best I can do but I never asked Libby that question I was confirming the validity of the Portfolio piece and that Wohlberg was in fact his agent. And what I have said is confirmed, not a guess. Please contact me. tedandderby@hotmail.com
