I love the combination of flatness and shading, which makes it appear as though the images are composed of loosely-stacked cut paper. It reminds me of Miguel Covarrubias - particularly this caricature of William Faulkner:

What a dream it would be to study technique with the likes of Balet or Covarrubias!
