  1. The man has the abilities of a cutaway drawer. I used to marvel at them, admiring their painstaking sectional drawings of luxus liners, radial engines, airplanes...

Well, those were the times; before such designers had been pushed aside by computer-induced drawing.

Barron Storey seems to use those cutaway abilities, artistically drawing them to something beyond...

Terrific to see this early stuff of Barron's. His work was and remains astonishing, his draftsmanship, technique and work ethic perhaps unmatched.

We were relative neighbors in NYC in the late 70s/early 80s, and I was in awe of him from word one.

I'll never forget flying to the San Diego comics convention in 76, I believe, and seeing his fantastic menu cover for TWA.

I could go on--but it should be clear--I'm an unabashed fan.

  3. Beautiful, bold and now -- rare. Very fresh because art like this has disappeared.

    thanks for a great post!

  4. I've been looking for automotive art like this for a long time. I recently started collecting a few pieces and was looking for a website where I could browse and order some. Any ideas, besides something like eBay?
